Daisy girl came to us as a very scared kitty hissing at whoever dared approach her cage. She often had a look of concern like she was waiting for something bad to happen. We're not sure what happened in her young life to make her so cautious but we gave her space and lots of treats and kind words. Her hissing has stopped and she now looks at us with curiosity. She will sometimes allow pets but will sometimes panic and retreat. She has given several volunteers a little love tap before retreating! We're still working on building a relationship with her on her terms. Daisy may prefer the freedom and space of a safe barn home or an indoor home willing to be patient with her sweet and sour cattitude!

All PAWS cats and dogs are current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm disease. Cats/kittens are tested (and are negative) for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.
